What is Start-up Challenge?

Start-up Challenge is the largest and one of the most prestigious competitions for young enterprises focusing on innovation and technological development. Held as part of the European Tech and Start-up Days with the support of the European Economic Congress (EEC), the competition attracts start-ups from across Europe eager to showcase their solutions on an international stage. This event provides not only an opportunity for competition but also a chance to gain valuable knowledge, establish business connections, and attract investors.

Unique Categories

It is worth noting that the Start-up Challenge is aimed at enterprises from various industries, ranging from manufacturing and environmental protection to modern business services. Each of these fields has its own specifics and requires participants to present unique technological solutions and innovative ideas. Therefore, the competition is not only a test for young entrepreneurs but also a catalyst for their further development and expansion into international markets.

Participants could apply in the following categories:

NEW INDUSTRY – Industry 4.0, robotics, automation, production systems, new materials, and space industry;

ENVIRONMENT – environmental protection: climate technologies, ecological farming, smart energy, resource utilization, and waste processing;

TRADITION & MODERNITY – traditional industry, energy, telecommunications, transport, and construction;

HEALTH & BIOTECHNOLOGY – medicine, health, medical technologies, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology;

BUSINESS PROCESSES – management, analytics, ICT, cybersecurity, logistics, and HR;

CLIENT & LIFESTYLE – retail, customer experience, e-commerce, fintech, edutech, gaming, sports, and leisure industry.

Start-up Challenge 2021 Final

The final of the Start-up Challenge and the meeting of selected European start-up creators with leading business representatives were scheduled for September 21, 2021. This event took place during the 13th European Economic Congress (EEC) in Katowice, which is the largest business meeting in Central Europe. It provides an excellent opportunity for young entrepreneurs to network with experts, investors, and successful CEOs and business leaders from various industries. For the sixth time, young and innovative entrepreneurs will compete for a place in the final of the Start-up Challenge.

Winners of Start-up Challenge 2021

This year, the challenge featured 170 start-ups. The best start-ups received awards and opportunities for support in their business operations and proposed solutions.

The 2021 Start-up Challenge concluded successfully for several exceptional start-ups. The winners included:

WARMIE in the Health & Biotechnology category,

CUX in the Business Process category,

MAB Robotics in the New Industry category,

Wood Pack in the Tradition & Modernity category,

SunRoof Technology in the Environment category,

IDENTT in the Client & Lifestyle category.

Each of these start-ups showcased innovative solutions within their respective fields, earning recognition from the competition's jury. As a result, they gained not only prestige but also opportunities to connect with key investors and business representatives on a European scale. Congratulations to all of them!
